In today's highly competitive global marketplace, Ohio must extend its economic reach, building relationships and seizing opportunities on a global scale. To help Chinese companies become profitable faster by leveraging the proven success of international investment in Ohio, a new Ohio-China Web site was recently launched.
The site provides important information and contacts to U.S. and Chinese-based companies regarding the benefits of doing business in Ohio.
China is an important trading partner and Chinese corporations are starting to invest in the state of Ohio. The Shanghai based Ohio China Center was established in 2006 to expand business investment opportunities and trade between Ohio and China. In 2008, Ohio opened a second office in Beijing, China to complement the efforts to bolster trade relations with China. Currently there are more than 1,000 employees working for Chinese corporations in Ohio.
In addition, Ohio exported $1.5 billion worth of products to China in 2006, a six-fold increase since 1998, making it Ohio's fourth largest export destination after Canada, Mexico and Japan.

Utilize Ohio's central location and world-class logistics capability to reduce supply chain costs.
As competition becomes more global, Ohio's central location and strength in transportation and logistics affords companies the ability to maximize flexibility while reducing supply-chain costs.
Ohio companies are able to ship and receive finished goods, semi-finished products or resources without high transportation costs or expensive delays, through a logistics management network that encompasses the entire spectrum of the industry:
- Fleet management
- Inventory management
- Inbound and outbound transportation management
- Logistics network design
- Materials handling
- Supply/demand planning
