Auditions are set for Monday, Feb. 4 and Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the spring presentation of Willy Wonka by the JCC's Children, Youth and Camping Department. The production will be directed by Eileen Howard, who most recently appeared in Gallery Players' production of Jerry's Girls, and directed the Center Village Curtain Players' production of Beau Jest last spring.
"This will be a great opportunity for kids who are interested in theater to learn more about acting," said Rachel Fox, director of the Children, Youth and Camping department.
Students in the 2nd through 12th grades are invited to audition. "However, being in the show is a time commitment, so we're hoping that parents will understand that their child will need to be at the rehearsal to which he or she is called, as well as all of the performances," she said.
Rehearsals will begin Feb. 13, and be held every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., and Monday and Wednesday, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., through April 9. Performances are scheduled for Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m.; Friday, April 11 at 10:30 a.m.; and Sunday, April 13, at 1 and 5 p.m.
Funding for this program is made possible with support from The Columbus Jewish Foundation.
