Maccabi ArtsFest for Teens Set for This Summer

Have a bit of artistic flair that you would like to express? Then you'll be interested to know that the JCC Maccabi ArtsFest will be taking place at the JCC of Northern Virginia in Fairfax, Va., from July 27 to Aug. 1, and our JCC will be sending a delegation of teen artists.

The ArtsFest is offering Acting/Improv, Creative Writing, Dance, Digital Media Art, Jazz/World Music Ensemble, Musical Theater, Photojournalism, Rock/Pop Bands, Visual Art and Vocal Music. A culminating gala performance tops off the week.

The mission of JCC Maccabi ArtsFest is to enable JCCs to reach out to a wider teen audience through the arts. ArtsFest is designed to inspire Jewish teens through a dynamic combination of workshop, performance, exhibition, community service, social activities, and fun to develop their individuality through the medium of artistic expression while strengthening their bonds to their Jewish heritage, community, and Israel.

While in Fairfax, teens will enjoy home hospitality, social activities, and the opportunity to take part in Days of Caring and Sharing, a community-service project, as well as developing their artistic gifts under the direction of world class artists-in-residence.

Teens, entering grades 8-12 interested in going to ArtsFest should contact Samara Chodosh at (614) 559-6255 to find out more information.
