Get Ready for the Reading Road Trip!

An amazing selection of books is heading to the JCC New Albany Preschool for the "Reading Road Trip" Scholastic Bookfair, Feb. 8-15.

The Bookfair will offer specially priced books and educational products, including new releases, award-winning titles, children's classics, interactive software, and current best sellers from more than 100 publishers. Throughout the eight-day event, books for children in preschool through the 5th grade will be on display and available for purchase in the preschool's gymnasium.

"The whole school is getting excited about the Bookfair, and the children are starting to make their wish lists," said Laurie Worly, who along with Laurie Clouse, are the Parent Committee co-chairs. "We're hoping that everyone will mark their calendars now so the whole family can join in the fun."

"Scholastic Bookfair patrons also help build classroom libraries and improve children's reading skills by purchasing books through the Classroom Wish Lists," said Clouse. "We are so excited to host this event in our community again this year."

Highlighting the Bookfair will be a Family Kick-Off event, a "Preschool Musical" dance party, on Sunday, Feb. 10, from 3 to 4 p.m. In addition, preschoolers will have a "Breakfast With Someone Special" on Tuesday, Feb. 12 and Wednesday, Feb. 13.

"This is a perfect time for preschoolers to show off their school and for their loved ones to browse books," said Clouse.

The Bookfair will have special hours for preschool students and their parents, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. It will be open to the general public on Sunday, Feb. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m.; Monday, Feb. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m.
