JET, the Jewish Experiences for Teens, is planning several events to give Jewish teens in Columbus the opportunity to meet and participate in activities together. All teens are invited for JET's first cooking class featuring Noa Ohayon on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. We will meet in the JCC's lobby and go to the preschool kitchen. This will be a Tu B'Shevat themed cooking class. We are making blintzes and shokalt (a chocolate dessert). JET is gong on the college caravan again! We will travel to Kenyon College, Miami University and Indiana University on Feb. 17-19. We will tour the campuses and Hillels to learn what their Jewish and college life is like. The bus leaves from the JCC on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. Cost: $100 (includes transportation, two nights in hotels and seven Kosher meals). Vouchers are available for those who qualify! Come be a part of the JCC Maccabi ArtsFest! This is the premiere arts experience for Jewish teens entering grades 8-12. Create, perform, exhibit, and immerse yourself in the arts! We will travel to the JCC of Northern Virginia in Fairfax, VA July 27 - August 1, 2008. The art specialties include: acting/improve, computer animation, creative writing, dance, jazz/world music ensemble, musical theater, photojournalism, rock/pop bands, visual art and vocal music.
