The JCC in conjunction with Temple Beth Shalom of New Albany, will present "Dance 'til You Drop" dance lessons for middle school students for six consecutive Sundays beginning Jan. 27. The lessons will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Temple Beth Shalom, 5089 Johnstown Rd., New Albany, with music and instructions provided by Buckeye Sounds.
"The classes are designed for kids who are in the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades, who are interested in learning the dances they will want to do at their friends' Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties, as well as their own," said Martha Goldberg, the JCC's Northeast Program Development Coordinator. "Even if they've already been to a number of those parties, they can attend the classes just for the fun of brushing up on the moves they already know."
The fee is $60 for the entire six weeks of classes, which will be held Jan. 27, Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24, and March 2.
"A final dance will be held March 9, and even if they have not attended the classes, middle school students are welcome to come to the final dance for a fee of $5," said Goldberg.
