On Thursday and Friday, Feb. 21 and 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the JCC will be offering a Certified Pool Operators Course to train participants in the most advanced techniques of chemical treatment, filtration, and mechanical system operation and maintenance.
Phil Sobers, JCC Aquatics manager, noted that certification as a Pool Operator is becoming a necessity on the resumes of those working in recreation fields. "The growing number of water parks, swimming pools, spas and fountains has increased the need for professionally trained operators who have technical knowledge," he said. "And rapid advances in technology also require the constant updating of operator knowledge and skill."
In addition, he said, states and municipalities often revise their pool and spa operating codes, and expect pool operators to know the information. "And, just as importantly, good training can result in the efficient operation of your facility, saving thousands of budget dollars," said Sobers.
The fee is $290 for the course, which will be taught by Dan Patrino. Registration deadline is Feb. 6. For more information, contact Sobers at (614) 559-6241 or psobers@columbusjcc.org.
