AAA Sales visits
May and June
In advance of the summer travel season, Experience Columbus promoted Columbus to AAA travel counselors who work with both group and individual travelers. Experience Columbus staff visited AAA offices in Indiana, Findlay, Detroit and Southern Ohio. Experience Columbus keeps in contact with AAA travel counselors year-round.
National Association of Professional Organizers
April 29-May 2, Orlando
Experience Columbus staff attended the 2009 event to build attendance for the 2010 show in Columbus. Attendance of 1,000 is expected.
Society of Government Meeting Planners National Education and Tradeshow
May 13-16, Louisville
This nonprofit professional organization is comprised of people who plan government meetings. Experience Columbus staff met with 29 meeting professionals, resulting in three hot leads and one request for proposal.
Direct Selling Association Annual Meeting
May 31-June 2, Washington, D.C.
The Direct Selling Association is the national trade association of the leading firms that manufacture and distribute goods and services sold directly to consumers. The Annual Meeting is the premier opportunity to network with more than 800 industry leaders.
National Tour Association Spring Meet
June 4-6, Monterey, Calif. The Spring Meet attracted 90 tour operators and receptive tour operators for educational and networking sessions. Only a select number of convention and visitors bureaus attend, as they must be a sponsor of the event.
Destination Marketing Association International Destinations Showcase Conference & Expo
June 24, Chicago
This annual event puts convention and visitors bureaus in direct contact with thousands of meeting professionals seeking locations for their events. Experience Columbus staff met with 30 meeting professionals from the Chicago area, resulting in two requests for proposals.
