The 2005 ADAMH Annual Meeting is set for Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Memorial Hall, 280 East Broad, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Come celebrate the successful passage of the ADAMH Replacement Levy, with consumers, providers, volunteers and many other supporters!
ISSUE 7, the ADAMH replacement levy, was approved on November 8, 2005 by Franklin County voters, earning 63% of the vote. ISSUE 7 is ADAMH's 10-year, 2.2 mill replacement levy, with collections beginning in January 2007.
Words cannot express how thankful I am to every person that has been involved in and supported the Issue 7, ADAMH Replacement Levy campaign. Thank you so much for your support, your compassion and your commitment to ADAMH and our system of care.
Check out pictures of all the people that helped with Issue 7. Thank you, volunteers!
Christopher Kovell, D.O. medical director for ADAMH, recently traveled to Louisiana to provide mental health expertise for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Kovell spent two weeks in Shreveport and Monroe, Louisiana as requested by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) from October 8 through October 22.
In September, several clients from the Franklin County Mental Health Court graduated to different phases of the treatment program. The Mental Health Court Program Docket (MHPD), a collaborative effort between the Franklin County Municipal Court and ADAMH that began in April 2004, was created in order to promote effective treatment as an alternative to incarceration for people whose symptoms of mental illness, history of treatment non-compliance, or have refused to accept treatment, resulting in a recurring pattern of misdemeanor offenses.
